English version

Unifony II is the title of the second CD by the Dutch musicians Minco Eggersman and Theodoor Borger. For this remarkable album they collaborated with the American pianist Aaron Parks and saxophonist Óskar Gudjónsson from Iceland.

Unifony II is a delicate jazz album with compositions by Minco Eggersman and Theodoor Borger. The way of working of the American pianist Aaron Parks fits seamlessly with the approach of Eggersman and Borger. He also regularly use electronics in his compositions. Unifony II is full of beautiful soundscapes. Wide sounds, deep reverberation with a synthesizer timbre, supplemented with effects. Vastness is the keyword of this powerful music. It is formed by a rich palette of sounds, fragments of melodies and improvisations. A musing timbre that is beautifully played by Parks on both acoustic piano and the electric Fender Rhodes. The saxophone playing by Óskar Gudjónsson caresses the top layer. On this metaphorical border of the spectrum, he creates a crystallizing cohesion between accompaniment and melody. Striking on Unifony II is the musical harmony. All instruments complement each other and give each other space in color and melody. A visual musical world that so beautifully stimulates the imagination and gives you a floating feeling in the air of music.
