English version

Luz De Otra Manera’ is the second album of flamenco guitarist Vasco Hernández (1980). Autodidact on guitar who recorded his first album ‘Solo’ in 2007. Now he will be assisted by bass, percussion and the singers Vanesa Lledo and DieGo ‘El Gavi’. We hear sparkling buleria’s, for solo guitar written solea’s and melodic alegria’s.

Vasco Hernández was born in Andorra but grew up in a Roma area in Madrid. He started by playing the piano but got a guitar on his 12th birthday. He developed himself to a flamenco guitarist and saw every bar of Madrid with his trio. He wrote music for the short film ‘Rabia Azul’ and moved to Barcelona. Hernandéz is an inspiring guitarist who wrote all the pieces for ‘Luz De Otra Manera’. He has a good taste for fine melodies and is an exciting improviser. Remarkable are the ‘rolling’ parts and the way he uses ‘glissandi’, what makes his music lovely and juicy. Most of the time we hear, beside guitar, percussion. The often used palmas (hands) and cajon: percussion box, brought from Peru to Spain by the legendary guitarist Paco de Lucia at the end of the 60’s. But also used are the less known claypot and the Moroccan bendir. A frame drum, harnessed with two strings that gives it ‘shaky’ sound, beautiful at the end of ‘Playa de las Piedras‘. Robust is the voice of DieGo ‘El Gavi’ (photo) with impressive high notes beside singer Vanesa Lledo, who touch the heart of the duende with her hoarse voice (Silencio). Luz De Otra Manera’ is the evidence of the shining of a different light, the international debut of Vasco Hernández!
